Tactical MANET
Mobile ad-hoc networks for a self-healing, mobile, and flexible network
Effective Communications for Troops On-the-Move
For troops who require flexibility in their operations and tactical communications, Bittium provides different mobile ad-hoc networking solutions.
With the the software-defined radio based Bittium Tactical Wireless IP Network™ (TAC WIN) system’s Radio Head I and TAC WIN Waveform it is possible to create MANET as an optimal solution for troops in a relatively small area requiring mobility. The TAC WIN MANET is interoperable with other TAC WIN network topologies and also with Bittium Tough SDR Vehicular™ and Bittium Tough SDR Handheld™ radios on the lower echelons.
Bittium Tough SDR Radios together with the ESSOR High Data Rate Waveform enable broadband data transfer, cooperation, and direct communications also between different national troops in coalition operations.
MANET as Part of the Mobile and Wireless Backbone Network
Bittium TAC WIN system can be used to form optimal MANET solutions for the mobile battlefield. The combination of RH-I radio unit (225-400 MHz), Tactical Router and TAC WIN Waveform are optimized for the purpose and is interoperable with other Bittium TAC WIN network topologies.
MANET for Combat Vehicles
The two-channel Bittium Tough SDR Vehicular brings broadband data and voice to mobile troops. For MANET connectivity, it is possible to use Bittium TAC WIN Waveform and ESSOR High Data Rate Waveform even simultaneously.
MANET for Dismounted Soldiers
Bittium Tough SDR Handheld provides MANET connectivity for dismounted soldiers such as squad or platoon leader. The waveform portofolio for the Handheld includes Bittium Narrowband, Bittium TAC WIN and ESSOR High Data Rate Waveforms.
