Bittium Code of Conduct
Bittium is committed to conducting its business honestly, adhering to laws, respecting human rights, and operating safely, sustainably, and ethically.
Every employee is obligated to act in accordance with Bittium’s ethical principles. We are responsible for our actions, and for understanding and following business conduct guidelines, corporate principles, and instructions. Violations of these practices may result in disciplinary actions, even termination of employment. Any suspected violations must be reported to Bittium management or via an anonymous reporting channel without delay.
Fair Business Practices and Good Corporate Citizenship
We comply with the requirements of fair business, advertising, and competition. These principles are integral to our way of working and material to our business strategy.
We engage with international bodies, governments, and authorities. We maintain high ethical standards and operate transparently. We are truthful and precise in our dealings. We are committed to complying with all applicable laws and regulations, such as trade and sanctions laws and regulations that affect our operations, including export control and customs regulations.
Interactions with governmental clients adhere to specific requirements, including procurement, lobbying, hospitality, disclosure, and accounting rules for example.
We operate globally, and corruption is on one of the significant risks related to social responsibility and human rights. We condemn corruption and bribery in any form, whether in our operations or those of our partners. We require all partners to commit to honesty. We establish business relationships only with customers engaged in lawful business. Training in anti-corruption measures is a mandatory part of employee onboarding.
We are committed to meeting all applicable financial accounting and reporting requirements as well as laws and regulations preventing tax evasion.
Responsible procurement is a core part of our business practices. Supplier accountability is ensured through supplier requirements and material audits, for example. Responsible procurement is integrated into our employees’ environmental training program, which is carried out through self-study. We expect our service and product suppliers to commit to responsible business practices and adhere to the principles of Bittium’s Code of Conduct as well as the guidelines and requirements of Bittium’s Supplier Manual. We use monitoring tools to detect corruption or other irregularities by partners.
We recognize our corporate responsibility as part of the society where we operate and support community engagement to foster social and economic development. We take part in the lives of our communities and contribute to economic wellbeing through our operations. Through multi-dimensional collaboration projects, we extend the positive impact of our activities even further. Both external and internal stakeholders can report rule violations through a designated channel. More information is available in the chapter “Ensuring Ethics and Transparency”.
Protection of Intellectual Property
We respect intellectual property rights and implement strategies and guidelines to ensure compliance in all activities. This includes respecting the intellectual property and confidential information of others. Protected intellectual property includes patents, registered designs, copyright-protected software and materials; know-how and trade secrets; as well as brands and trademarks.
Human Rights and Fairness
We are committed to internationally recognized human rights initiatives, such as the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.
We condemn all forms of forced labor and child labor and do not tolerate slavery, human trafficking, or any form of servitude within our operations or supply chains.
We value diversity and do not accept any form of discriminatory, sexually disturbing, offensive, or other type of harassing behavior or verbal expression. This applies to physical, verbal, and written actions in any form or channel. Trust, honesty, and respect for others guide our actions.
We are politically and religiously neutral. We respect all individuals, regardless of age, gender identity, disability, characteristics or expression despite of race, religion, belief, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, pregnancy, or parental status, or any other characteristic protected by law. All forms of bullying, harassment, and discrimination are prohibited and addressed promptly. We foster equal opportunity and ensure equitable pay and compensation for employees. Employment decisions are based on business needs and comply with applicable labor laws and regulations.
Safe Workplace
As an employer, we follow the ILO’s Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work. We provide our employees with a healthy, safe, and fair working environment. Employees have the right and duty to maintain practices promoting the development of their own well-being and that of their work community. We demand the same commitment from our partners and suppliers, ensuring materials used in our products come from socially responsible sources.
We comply with international labor contracts and laws governing working hours, leave, wages, and other employment terms. Employees have the right to organize, join associations, and negotiate collectively with the company. We uphold freedom of association and the right to belong to a trade union. Our employees can freely support legal community, charity, political, and religious organizations of their choosing, provided they clarify that their views and actions are personal and not representative of Bittium.
Data Protection and Information Security
We collect, use, store, and process data responsibly, ethically, and in compliance with applicable data protection laws, statutes, and guidelines regarding confidentiality, data protection, and information security.
Our data protection principles safeguard privacy and security. We maintain comprehensive security at a high level to protect and guarantee the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data and materials. We maintain the data protection and information security know-how of our personnel with regular training.
Insider Guidelines
Bittium Corporation is a publicly listed company, and its shares are listed on the main list of Nasdaq Helsinki. The capital market is regulated, and the guidelines emphasize fair access to information about shares traded on the stock exchange.
Our insider guidelines prohibit the misuse of inside information. This prohibition applies to anyone with access to such information, regardless of where or how it was received. Employees encountering non-public information about Bittium or other companies are strictly forbidden from using it for personal or financial gain, such as stock trading, or sharing it with others.

Sustainable Future
We consider environmental impacts in our operations, striving to prevent pollution and reduce the environmental footprint of our products and services throughout their lifecycle.
We execute a sustainability program. The final decision-making power over the alignment of our sustainability actions is held by the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors also approves the sustainability program, for example. Progress reports on our sustainability actions are provided to the Board of Directors at least once a year in conjunction with the publication of our Annual Report and Sustainability Report. Our sustainability program aligns with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals and is based on a double materiality assessment where we have recognized impacts, risks, and opportunities in areas of environment, society, and good governance.

Ensuring Ethics and Transparency
Violations of our operational principles undermine trust among employees, as well as towards our shareholders, customers, and stakeholders, potentially jeopardizing the company’s operation.
Through our values, we encourage our personnel to be open, honest, and to report all misconduct to prevent problems and avoid possible negative impact on the company’s reputation or finances. We strive to achieve transparency and high level of business ethics.
Our whistleblowing channel allows confidential reporting of suspected misconduct. It is an important tool for fostering trust in our business as it helps to identify possible misconduct and reaction at an early stage. Whistleblowing reports can be submitted openly or anonymously by anyone.
